Dr. George “Edwin” Loftin, Jr.

Edwin Loftin joined MSL in 2023 serving as a Senior Consultant. He has over 35 years of leadership and managerial experience in healthcare. He has extensive experience and knowledge in all aspects of regulatory issues, compliance, accreditation, and risk management.
Edwin has served on the executive team in a community healthcare delivery system in Florida and was involved in all aspects of healthcare planning, execution, and evaluation. His track record of improvements in patient care outcomes and patient safety includes results in establishment of healing care, reduction in length of stay, commitment to high reliability and zero harm, and fiscal stewardship. Previously, Edwin also served in a leadership capacity with hospitals in North Carolina.
Edwin is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE, FACHE Certified) and was the recipient of the Patient Safety Movement Foundation’s (PSMF) Steven Moreau Humanitarian Award in 2018. He is a speaker at various healthcare conferences/meetings, has been a member on several healthcare and community board of directors and/or advisory councils, and has written publications about healthcare leadership and safety.
Edwin has a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Central Florida, a Master of Business Administration degree with a certificate in Health Administration from East Carolina University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Atlantic Christian College (Barton College).
