Missi Halvorsen joined MSL in 2022 and serves as a Senior Consultant. She has worked in the healthcare industry for over 35 years. Her background includes consulting and training in regulatory standards associated with CMS and The Joint Commission. For the past three years, Missi has worked as an independent nurse consultant assisting community hospitals and military and VA clients with The Joint Commission related services such as mock surveys and education. She also focuses on documentation, billing and coding compliance, and high reliability structures for healthcare organizations.

Prior to independent consulting, Missi worked for six years as a Director of Performance Partner/Quality and Safety/Accreditation at Premier, Inc. She provided assessments and solutions for a variety of regulatory, accreditation, and compliance challenges in the hospital, ambulatory, and home health settings. She worked collaboratively with teams, as well as independently. Missi also worked for 20 years at Baptist Health in Jacksonville, FL. Her latest position there was a Senior Consultant of Accreditation/Privacy and Compliance. She directed the Corporate Compliance, Regulatory, Accreditation, and Privacy Office for Baptist Health’s five-hospital health system. She worked closely alongside the legal and risk management teams, executives, and the medical staff to mitigate or resolve issues at hand. In other positions, Missi served as Director of Quality and Safety and Director of Nursing in hospital and home care settings.

Missi received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix at Phoenix, AZ, and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama. She holds an active registered nurse license in the state of Florida. Missi is also an active member of the American Nurses Association, Florida Hospital Association, and Florida Healthcare Corporate Compliance Association.
